How it works

The MedLite C6 delivers nanosecond pulses deep into the skin to switch on collagen and elastin production without damaging the surface. That means no peeling and no downtime. The same laser breaks down unwanted pigment so your body can clear it, leaving a brighter, more even tone over a course of treatments.

Why we use the Cynosure MedLite C6

• Medical-grade and non-ablative. Cynosure's Q-switched Nd:YAG laser works beneath the surface without removing layers of skin, so there's no peeling and no time off.
• Nanosecond pulses. Ultra-short pulses reach deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen and break up unwanted pigment.
• Even, flat-top beam. Energy is spread evenly across each treatment spot, which helps minimise injury to the skin's surface.
• Suits a wide range of skin types. The 1064nm wavelength passes through surface pigment, so it can be used on many skin types – we confirm suitability at your consultation.
• Comfort. Zimmer Cryo cooling chills the skin throughout treatment.
• Cleaner air. Our Alsident fume extraction system removes laser plume from the treatment-room air as we work, so you and your therapist aren't breathing it in.

How many sessions you'll need

Some clients see a difference after one session. For the best result we recommend a course of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart, then maintenance sessions to keep your skin at its best. Where pigmentation is treated, spots may darken or flake briefly before they fade.

Downtime and comfort

None – mild redness or warmth for a few hours; make-up the same day. Light prickling or warmth. Zimmer cooling throughout.

Is there downtime?

No. You may look a little flushed for a few hours. You can wear make-up the same day and go straight back to work.

How many treatments do I need?

What should I do afterwards?

Avoid the sun and wear a high-protection SPF every day, such as Skinstitut Age Defence SPF 50+, which we stock in clinic.
