How does Laser Hair Removal work?
The LaserMach Pro Laser is a versatile system that combines multiple wavelengths (Alexandrite 755nm, Diode Laser 808nm, and ND Yag 1064nm) to achieve permanent hair reduction. Due to the multiple wavelengths offered, all skin colours can safely be treated. During the procedure, the laser heats the hair follicle causing it to perish and preventing future growth. Successful laser hair reduction can only be achieved on pigmented hairs in the anagen growth phase. Not all hairs are in the full growth phase at one given time, making laser hair removal progressive. Because of this, (and dependent on the area) only 20% or so of hairs are successfully treated every time. Once a treatment is completed, hairs will continue shedding and you will experience hairs falling from day 7 to 14 and onwards.
How many treatments of Laser Hair Removal will I need?
Due to the multiple wavelengths and advanced technology of the LaserMach Pro Laser System, our clients are finding they are achieving quicker results compared to other lasers. An average client may need anywhere from 6 to 10 treatments or more till a desired outcome is reached. Ongoing maintenance or top-up treatments are a must in order to sustain your results and are recommended a few times a year, or when needed. Some clients will require ongoing treatments due to factors that are unknown. Common zones that can require ongoing treatments are typically seen in areas on the face and inner genitalia regions.
How often can I do Laser Hair Removal?
Depending on the area, we perform treatments at 2 to 4 and 6 weeks intervals. We do not recommend leaving your treatments at more than 6 weeks apart. When you are new to this procedure. Leaving it too long in-between sessions will make this treatment ineffective and the body will begin to replace and create new hairs starting the entire process again.
What is the downtime for Laser Hair Removal?
The downtime for laser hair removal is usually minimal, and most people can resume their regular activities immediately after the procedure. However, some common side effects may include; redness, erythema and dry skin. It is crucial to follow the pre and post-care instructions provided by your practitioner to ensure the best results and minimise any potential side effects.
